Job Roles & Responsibilities:
- Stay ahead of design trends and emerging technologies to incorporate fresh and relevant ideas into projects and to meet the global standards.
- Managing the design processes involved in a construction project, including ensuring that drawings are ready on time, reviewing designs and making them available to the appropriate people
- Manage and coordinate all of the design-related matters on construction projects, helping to keep work running smoothly and on time.
- Establishing and maintaining effective methods of communication between the teams involved in design work throughout the project.
- To manage design consultants on design, drawings and deliverables to ensure adherence to the construction program.
- To manage and coordinate with site team information on design changes and to respond to design changes to achieve the construction program.
- To manage competency and efficiency of design to control cost and improve profit margins.
- To liaise with the site team and draftsperson on information to produce As-Build drawings.
- To manage the Temp Works team on construction methodology taking into consideration the safety aspects to manage safety and quality on site.
- To oversee consultants on agreed quality assurance procedures to ensure the design(s) meets relevant codes and good engineering practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent practical experience in design management within the construction industry.
- A minimum of 5 years of Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and innovation.
- Proficiency in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools, and other relevant design tools.
- Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction techniques, and building codes and regulations.
