Job description:Job Purpose

To lead and manage the design process for civil engineering projects, ensuring the functionality and efficiency of structures and systems while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Accountability Areas

Project Planning and Management: Developing project plans, schedules, and budgets, coordinating with stakeholders to establish project goals and objectives. Design Development: Creating conceptual and detailed designs for various civil engineering projects, Incorporating principles of structural integrity, environmental sustainability, and safety into designs. Technical Analysis: Performing engineering calculations and analyses to verify the feasibility and performance of designs. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with architects, other engineers, and project stakeholders to integrate various design elements and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts. Communicating design concepts, recommendations, and technical information effectively to team members and clients. Quality Assurance: Conducting quality checks and reviews of technical drawings to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and project requirements. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and organized documentation related to technical drawings, including design specifications, materials lists, and revision history. Continuous Improvement: Staying updated on advancements in mechanical design software, techniques, and industry best practices to continuously improve skills and workflows.

Role Accountability

Drafting Software Proficiency: Utilize design software using AutoCAD, REVIT to create accurate and efficient design drawings and models.. Project Planning and Feasibility: Assess project feasibility considering factors like site conditions, environmental impact, regulatory requirements, and budget constraints. Accuracy and Precision: Ensuring accuracy and precision in all technical drawings is paramount, must adhere to industry standards and specifications to produce drawings that are reliable and consistent. Interpretation of Specifications: Must interpret engineering specifications, sketches, and technical documents accurately to translate them into detailed drawings. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and hazards associated with the project and implement mitigation measures. Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication with engineers, designers to clarify requirements, address issues, and ensure alignment throughout the design process. Adherence to Regulations and Standards: Compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices is imperative to ensure the safety, reliability, and legality of designs. Quality Assurance and Control: Establish quality standards and procedures to maintain the accuracy and reliability of design deliverables.
