Job Purpose:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will lead our efforts in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools necessary to support continuous integration, continuous delivery, and overall application lifecycle management. You will provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and mentorship to the DevOps team, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems while optimizing development workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership in designing and implementing DevOps processes and practices.
- Define and drive the long-term vision and roadmap for infrastructure and tooling improvements.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Architect and implement advanced infrastructure as code solutions for automated provisioning and configuration management.
- Mentor team members in best practices in the day to day tasks.
Automation Optimization:
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery across multiple environments.
- Implement advanced deployment strategies such as blue/green deployments and canary releases.
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline and optimize development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.
- Automate complex tasks and workflows.
Testing and Ensure Performant Apps:
- Conduct stress testing to the applications and provide reports of the performance of the application and the underlying resources
- Fine tune the deployment to yield with the best performance possible.
Containerization and Orchestration Expertise:
- Architect and manage containerization solutions using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Optimize containerized environments for scalability, performance, and resource utilization.
Security and Compliance:
- Lead security initiatives to implement and enforce best practices for infrastructure and application security DecSecOps.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements like ICS.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to align DevOps initiatives with business objectives and project requirements.
- Act as a technical liaison between different teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
- Deep knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Expertise in working with cloudflare.
- Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
- Advanced understanding of networking, security, and system administration principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Leadership experience and the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
