Who are you:
You have at least 6 years working in a Tier 1 Management Consultancy, your primary degree was in Finance, and you've completed an MBA in a Tier 1 Business School. You've followed your consultancy career by moving in-house where you have worked in Investment and Portfolio Management funds or Investment Banking. You have experience with Asset Management and ideal but not essential knowledge of the hospitality industry.
You are a motivated self-starter, work independently, have been through at least 1 IPO in your career and have assumed the role of key advisor to CEO's and Chairpersons. Financial reporting and advanced financial models have been a daily delivery for you in the past 2-3 years.
You are equally adept at Internal alignment of the Organisations Chiefs as you are building partnerships externally. You have supported CEO's and the board through detailed financial analysis informing strategical direction. You have delivered Transformations and are looking to now implement your learnings in a growing organisation.
This position requires a dedicated Corporate Planning Director who will become invested in the growth of Katara Hospitality and who will drive operational excellence throughout the company.
Core Responsibilities
Corporate strategy development
Ensure that strategy planning requirements are obtained from Shareholders and the Board of Directors.
Advise CEO and chiefs of the requirements for strategic planning; provide guidance to departments to ensure the development of appropriate draft strategies.
Review draft strategies, attend a sample of strategy workshops and review draft KPIs and departmental goals; provide advice to departments and sections on KPIs, initiatives and goals where appropriate.
Prepare draft strategic plans (high-level goals) for review by CEO and heads of department; review and endorse the draft corporate strategy; manage submission to the Board, modifications and final acceptance / approval.
Strategic performance monitoring and control
Approve the annual strategy reporting cycle at corporate and department levels, and reporting systems and methods.
Review department achievement reports at defined intervals; endorse corporate-level strategy implementation reports and provide commentary where appropriate (e.g., where there are gaps between planned and actual outcomes).
Transformation management
Review proposals for or lead the development of proposals for corporate transformation and ensure their review by stakeholders and updated, where required.
Lead the implementation of transformation initiatives, monitor outcomes, initiate corrective action, where required, and report results.
Risk assessment and validation
Lead KH's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function; review and challenge assumptions underlying the allocation of risk levels against KH's risk appetite, financial profile and business strategy.
Compliance requirements management
Maintain knowledge and understanding of applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including but not limited to relevant standards, KH code of conduct.
Serve as Compliance Owner for strategy-related requirements and report compliance status.
Education Requirement's
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, from a Top Ranked School
Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, from a Tier 1 Internationally recognised Business School.
