The Government Affairs Director will be responsible for developing and executing the company's public policy strategy in Saudi Arabia. This role requires a strategic leader with deep knowledge of the Saudi political landscape, strong relationships within government institutions, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. The Director will represent the company's interests to government entities, ensure compliance with local regulations, and advocate for policies that support the company's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Government Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key government officials, agencies, and stakeholders at the local, regional, and national levels.
- Policy Advocacy: Monitor and analyze government policies, regulations, and legislation affecting the company. Advocate for policies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company's operations comply with all relevant government regulations. Provide guidance on regulatory changes and their impact on the business.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive government affairs strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives. Identify opportunities and risks related to government actions.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and government officials. Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and policy briefs to senior management and government entities.
- Crisis Management: Lead government-related crisis management efforts, ensuring that the company's interests are protected in the face of regulatory or political challenges.
- Partnership Development: Identify and develop strategic partnerships with government bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to advance the company's interests.
- Representation: Represent the company at government meetings, industry events, and other public forums. Ensure the company's perspective is communicated effectively.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing government affairs team. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field, with a strong track record in Saudi Arabia.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Saudi political landscape, government structures, and regulatory environment. Familiarity with key policy issues affecting the industry.
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to build and maintain high-level relationships with government officials.
- Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence and drive change at the highest levels of government and within the organization.
- Language: Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
