JOB TITLE

Director Technology Transformation and Architecture | MAF Global Solutions | MAFTech

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Director of Technology Transformation and Architecture is a core role within the MAF Global Solution leadership team. This role is for a strategic leader who is responsible for the development of the Group Technology transformation roadmap, establishing and maintaining ownership over the Enterprise Architecture landscape. This role will lead a team of enterprise and business architects and strategy developers to take an enterprise view across the wider technology teams.

ROLE PROFILE:

Technology Transformation:

  • Provide a holistic view of the current business and I&T environment, the future direction, and the initiatives required to migrate to the desired future environment.
  • Ensure that the desired level of digitization is integral to the future direction and the I&T Roadmap.
  • Assess the organization's current digital maturity and develop a road map to close the gaps.
  • With the business, rethink internal operations as well as customer-facing activities.
  • Ensure focus on the transformation journey across the organization.
  • Develop an appropriate digital and innovation roadmap that can be communicated to other function heads within Technology and senior leaders within the wider business.
  • Communicate the Technology capabilities and champion its use to drive business investment and prioritization decisions
  • Facilitates business and IT alignment through a collaborative, supportive and consultative manner, driving the organization's digital business strategies and balancing innovation and growth
  • Formulates, translates, advocates, supports and executes business strategy through business programs underpinned by technology solutions to achieve the organization's targeted business outcomes.
  • Leads the analysis of business and operating models, market trends and the technology industry to determine their potential impact on the enterprise's business strategy, direction and architecture.
  • Constructs technology-enabled business and operating models and provides viable options and visibility into execution issues.
  • Provides perspective on the readiness of the organization to change and innovate.
  • Uses planning-driven, design-driven and learning-driven approaches to construct future- and current-state business capabilities.

Enterprise and Solution Architecture:

  • Establish the Enterprise and Business architecture practice consisting of business process, information, data, application and technology architecture layers.
  • Create key models and practices that describe the baseline and target architectures, in line with the enterprise and I&T strategy.
  • Define requirements for taxonomy, standards, guidelines, procedures, templates and tools, and provide a linkage for these components.
  • Improve alignment, increase agility, improve quality of information and generate potential cost savings through initiatives such as re-use of building block components.
  • Lead the development of a value proposition and execution of a communication and education plan for the enterprise architecture practice.
  • Plans and manages a talent pool of domain architects that works with EA and non-EA related disciplines to deliver the goals, objectives and outcomes of the organization.
  • Facilitates business and IT alignment through a collaborative, supportive and consultative manner, driving the organization's digital business strategies and balancing innovation and growth
  • Positions the EA practice at the intersection of business and IT. Ensures the EA practice is designed and enabled to help formulate, translate and execute business strategy.
  • Ensures the EA organizational design process leads to a more efficient and effective business and IT operating model, significantly improved results (profitability, customer service, internal operations), and EA resources who are empowered and committed to the integration of business and IT.
  • Leads a collaborative guild of architects and works with a strategic review board to resolve conflicts between product and enterprise business outcomes.
  • leading and managing the Enterprise Architecture activities that strategically guide business and operating models, people, processes and technology.
  • Works closely with the business to develop a strong understanding of the different business units organization structure and the functions that each team performs, business processes and systems that support business capabilities, challenges faced by the business teams and forward-looking business goals.
  • Establish a toolbox of business architecture deliverables to help business leaders identify and make IT investment decisions. Deliverables include, but are not limited to, business-outcome-statements, strategy on a page, scenario planning, business capability modeling, value-streams mapping, business process models, ecosystems modeling, customer and user profiling, journey maps, human-centric design and investment roadmaps.

Innovation:

  • Maintain an awareness of I&T and related service trends and monitor emerging technology trends.
  • Proactively identify innovation opportunities and plan how to benefit from innovation in relation to business needs and the defined I&T strategy.
  • Analyze what opportunities for business innovation or improvement can be created by emerging technologies, services or I&T-enabled business innovation; through existing established technologies; and by business and IT process innovation. Influence strategic planning and enterprise architecture decisions.
  • Promotes the business value of EA as an enabler of strategy formulation, and as support for technology innovation, which drives the organization's top and bottom lines.
  • Analyzes the organization's digital strategy and how the organization currently approaches digital innovation and monetization.
  • Identify key innovation opportunities across the technology value chain, including digital technologies, business processes, methodologies.
  • Develop roadmap for fostering and incubating innovation capabilities.
  • Drive development of innovation capabilities through establishment of Centers of Excellence.
  • Drive innovation culture across the organization functions and value streams.
  • Define KPIs to measure relevance and ROI of developed capabilities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Deep knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
  • Deep understanding of information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
  • Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture.
  • Certified in Architecture Frameworks; TOGAF, FEAF, DOD, Zachman. Certified Program/Project Management Professional
  • 12 or more years of business experience in IT transformation, architecture or technology leadership. Along with 8 or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture,.
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
