The Distribution Strategy Manager will devise and implement distribution strategies in coordination with the Manager Global Distribution. Take the lead of defining specifications, selection, customisation, user acceptance testing and implementation of NDC and Modern Airline Retailing solutions in coordination with cross functional team with relevant stakeholders.
Responsible for solutions to be executed that will assist in transformative retailing strategies to drive New Distribution Capability (NDC) adoption and to enable the airline to deliver exceptional customer experience. Direct the Distribution team to regularly monitor functionality (such as participation & ancillary products) and metrics (such as geography, point of sale (POS), segments, tickets, unit costs, wastage, etc) to recommend and execute plans that migrate business to cost-effective channels optimising the overall unit cost.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the development and execution of NDC and modern airline retailing strategies to enhance customer experience and drive revenue growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Market Operations, sales team globally, marketing, and distribution, to develop tailored solutions to drive content differentiation strategy, NDC and One order adoption.
- Manage relationships with technology partners and third-party distributors and provide guidance and training to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Oversee the implementation of NDC compliant solutions and continuous improvement of the airline's retailing capabilities. This involves reviewing industry developments to determine how they can be leveraged for Emirates benefit. Take the lead to define specifications, selection, customisation, implementation and user acceptance testing (UAT) in conjunction with Emirates Group IT (EGIT), across the commerical division including Revenue Optimisation (RO) Revenue Steering and Standards and external vendors. Ensure all technical enhancements and new systems capability is delivered to specification, on time and within budget.
- Actively monitor Distribution cost of NDC sales for Emirates (EK). Ensure all discounts, incentives and commissions are actively managed, reported and reviewed to provide it's analysis.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to ensure successful project delivery and team development.
- Regularly monitor functionality (such as participation & ancillary products) and metrics (such as geography, point of sale (POS), segments, tickets, unit costs, wastage, etc) to recommend and execute plans that migrate business to cost-effective channels through volume shifts, unit cost lowering and unit cost reductions.
- Act and liaise with NDC system provider/s by reviewing implemented functionalities to address and arrest areas of abuse (e.g. system processes, etc), improve capabilities specific to NDC and retailing that provides better ROI and enhances efficiencies at optimal cost.
- Manage, coach, and motivate the Distribution team. Conduct regular performance reviews, setting clear objectives and development plans. Provide ongoing feedback to team members and management to support continuous improvement and development.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Honours with 8+ years of experience within Commercial/Sales/Revenue Optimisation
- Experience in the airline industry, within distribution. Additional experience in e-commerce, commerical, sales, or retailing will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of intricate airline systems and ability to quickly learn NDC standards, airline retailing practices.
- Good project management and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent command of English in all forms.
- Ability to interpret and reconstruct legal contracts.
- Proficient at MS-Office Professional and Rapid etc would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to rapidly analyse numerical data.
- Work independently on multiple projects simultaneously and maintain contact with a variety of external customers and suppliers.
