Position Overview:

The EFO MEP Construction Manager reports directly to the Senior EFO Manager and is responsible for managing and controlling the delivery of construction activities related to exhibition fit outs and MEP Works. Ensuring that the execution strategy of the project is adopted as per the current site situation and will be continuously monitored as well as ensuring his deep involvement in Contractors submittals addressing Construction methodology including Method Statements, Project Quality Plan, Project HSE Plan, Schedules, and compliance with Project objectives.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with the Senior EFO Manager continuously regarding Project Progress with respect to EFO and MEP areas of concerns.
  • Advise EFO Manager of any foreseen slippage of Progress and provide proper guidance to Contractor to propose appropriate corrective actions to mitigate delays.
  • Review and monitor in timely manner, the Contractor's proposed construction equipment and manpower histogram and advise the Senior EFO Manager of any shortage.
  • Manage the coordination between the EFO and the base built scopes with emphasis on the interfacing systems (i.e., HVAC).
  • Manage and monitor the performance of Construction Supervision Consultant and Contractor with respect to project delivery.
  • Attending all required meetings. Initiate ad hoc meetings to resolve discrepancies with all concerning parties.
  • Monitor the site progress at various stages of construction works all throughout the duration of the project.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reported by the Contractor.
  • Monitor the technical submittals and approval process.
  • Regular visits to Project site for global monitoring of site activities in respect of Quality, Safety and Progress and advise the Senior EFO Manager of findings, area of concern and request Contractor to submit corrective action for review/ approval.
  • Log all change requests and in particular MEP contractual omissions.
  • Critically analyze and report any value engineering proposals.
  • Ensure Contractor/ Consultants Compliance with its Contractual obligations, all required regulations, as well as Contractors deliverables of the project including all required building and civil defense permits.
  • Establish and maintain specific project procedures for Construction Supervision management.
  • Proactive management of Consultants, Sub-Consultants Contractors, and project participants.
  • Evaluation of progress on the Construction Methodology & Schedules for each package and taking necessary actions with the relevant parties for deviations and time slippage.
  • Ensuring the Safety Management System is being strictly adhered to.
  • Ensuring that QA/QC procedures and standards are being implemented and followed.
  • Review the Contractor's submitted Monthly Reports.
  • Identify areas of concern and propose for improvement for the project delivery from PMC's perspective.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:


  • 15 years of total experience.
  • 5 Years in the UAE.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering.
  • Professional Membership.
  • Experience on exhibition fit our projects or projects of similar complexity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to successfully work with Project and Construction Management Team, Consultants, Sub-Consultants and Contractors.
  • The ability to mediate in a conflict situation.
  • The ability to provide professional guidance and task management for direct reports.
  • Technical understanding and working knowledge of Engineering, Project Management and Construction.
  • Knowledge of the Authorities having Jurisdiction and the processes to be followed during design development and construction of the Works through to attainment of a Building Completion Certificate.
  • A problem-solving approach seeking win-win solutions.
  • Self-driven to identify and thrust to push bottlenecks and roadblocks wherever they may lie.
  • Experience in complex AV installations.
