Electrical Design Section Head

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assign Team Leader and project team for each project.

Review and approve all the engineering deliverables outputs of the team.

Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.

Review all inputs required for the design process and communicate officially if any input is missing or not sufficient.

Ensure on time delivery of the engineering documents according to the dates in the MDL.

Involve in critical requirements and issues related to the engineering department.

Assigns and follows up on the tasks related to the section.

Coordinates diverse activities within a functional area.

Attend the meetings with Consultants/Clients and Subconsultants, and the meetings with the internal stakeholders if deemed

necessary by the PEL/PEM and the discipline manager.

Track the performance of the team and evaluate the team members on a continuous basis and give feedback on their performanceto them and to their direct supervisor.

Makes modification as required and uses projects tracks to plan for and implement continuous improvement.

Control the quality (Technical and presentation) of the submitted deliverables.

Ensures that engineering details are shown where needed for clarity or where dictated by project specification.

Ensure that the Engineering work processes, and Engineering department procedures are followed and the coordination between the other disciplines was done by the electrical team.

Approve the MDL (Master Document List) and Material Tracking sheet (MTS) based on the delegation of the Engineering Manager.

Ensure that a value engineering is considered in all the designs created by the team.

Participate and provide necessary input to build and enrich company's lesson learned and knowledge database.

Identify and plan training needs and support execution of training.

Provide periodic, accurate and on-time reports to monitor the performance of his/her engineering discipline.

Participate in optimizing company and engineering department procedures, processes, and workflows.

Assists with new employee recruitment activities.

Develop and maintain an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort. Encourage creativity, risk taking and continuous improvement.

Experience:

Min 12 years of experience in related projects/fields.
