Job Title: Maintenance Electrical Engineer

Reports to: Head of Maintenance
Job Purpose:
The Maintenance Engineer will support the maintenance team in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and machinery. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to develop hands-on experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing machinery, particularly in a food production environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime and high efficiency across all equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems in production lines.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and address potential issues before they result in breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and downtime to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize machine downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and ensure compliance with safety protocols during maintenance tasks.
- Participate in developing maintenance plans to optimize the performance of machines and equipment.
- Assist in ordering spare parts and managing inventory to ensure timely repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance management team.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Skills and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, conveyors, pumps, and sensors.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience:
- Previous experience (internships or part-time jobs) in maintenance or engineering environments, particularly in the manufacturing industry, is desirable but not essential.
