JOB PURPOSE
Conducts hydraulic study for water and wastewater network and plants in Jubail. Computes and estimates rates of water flow. Specifies type and size of equipment, such as conduits, pumps, valves and surge tanks, used in transporting water and wastewater.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and evaluate the recommendations related to water utility requests initiated by a new customer or expansion requested by business units to ensure meeting the requirements.
- Review a conceptual technical design for CAPEX to meet demand forecasts for Water utilities thus meeting the customer needs following close co-operation with business unit.
- Evaluate technically the proposals received from the BUs to ensure completeness and all business and basic requirements are met.
- Develops hydraulic models for seawater, water & wastewater related utilities based on the as-built data and utilize the model results to advise water specialists for capacities and needs for expansion.
- Contribute to buildings, maintaining and updating a strong database to properly manage the facilities & capacity planning for Water Utilities and keep the hydraulic model securely with the help of IT.
- Recommend improvements to departmental procedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of water related activities so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of water activities to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Carry out, coordinate and facilitate Change Management Request (CMIR) received from Business Unit according to the approved CMIR procedure.
- Participate in Project Execution Strategy (PES) stages related to hydraulic Work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering.
Minimum Experience
- 5-7 years Mechanical or Hydraulic engineering or project management experience in heavy industrial or utilities plant.
- Experience of managing/costing contracts involving external civil contractors.
- Experience in performing technical studies and evaluations.
- Experience of maintenance planning using SAP or other computerized business management tools
