Job Description

Job Purpose:

Seeking an experienced and innovative Engineering Manager to lead our technology initiatives in Payments, Aggregators, and Loyalty Systems. As a key member of the technical leadership team, you will drive the development and optimization of mission-critical systems that power seamless customer experiences, robust integrations, and scalable business growth in the food and restaurant industry. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, managerial acumen, and domain knowledge in payments, third-party integrations, and loyalty programs.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of highly scalable and secure systems for payments, third-party aggregator integrations, and loyalty programs.
  • Ensure the adoption of industry best practices in areas such as payment security (e.g., PCI DSS compliance), data privacy, and fault-tolerant system design.
  • Drive innovation by leveraging emerging technologies like AI/ML for predictive analytics, customer personalization, and fraud detection in payment and loyalty systems.
  • Establish robust CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to ensure rapid and reliable delivery of new features.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the food and restaurant tech landscape, ensuring systems align with industry trends and consumer expectations.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing payments systems, with expertise in payment gateway integrations, fraud detection, and reconciliation processes.
  • Strong understanding of third-party aggregator integrations, including APIs, SDKs, and middleware.
  • Expertise in loyalty platforms architecture and integration with marketing tools and CRMs.
  • Hands-on experience with modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, .NET, Node.js).
  • Proficiency in database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, microservices, and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the engineering team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, operations, and other stakeholders to align engineering priorities with business goals.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams of 10+ members.
  • Experience in setting and achieving measurable goals, OKRs, and KPIs for engineering projects.
  • Adept at stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams and driving technical projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining payment systems, aggregator integrations, and loyalty platforms, preferably in the food and beverage or retail industry.
  • Strong track record of delivering scalable, secure, and user-friendly systems in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, .NET, or Node.js) and frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL, such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB).
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and event-driven systems.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies is a plus.

Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Proven ability to mentor, inspire, and lead diverse teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving impactful results.

Certifications (Optional):

  • Relevant certifications in software engineering, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), or project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) are advantageous.
