To help accelerate our growth and pace of delivery, we are looking for talented Engineering Managers to help spearhead the overall look and feel of our features and services.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of software engineers to encourage professional growth and maximize productivity
- Oversee and ensure timely and quality delivery of the technical aspects of the development process, ensuring best practices are followed, and high-quality software is delivered
- Collaborate with the squad's product owner, design, and other stakeholders to define project priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Drive the strategic planning and execution of engineering projects from conception to deployment
- Foster an agile and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and resolving any issues that may impact project success
- Implement and refine engineering processes, tools, and metrics to ensure efficient and effective development workflows
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and provide technical guidance to ensure the development of robust, scalable, and secure applications
- Manage resource allocation and project budgeting to meet organizational objectives while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and innovations, integrating new technologies and practices to maintain competitive advantage
- Working closely with the Product Owner to manage the performance of the team of engineers in the squad
What you'll need:
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Technical Product Owner or in a similar leadership role within a software development environment
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate engineering teams
- Experience with agile development methodologies and leading agile teams
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, and testing
