Job Title: English Language Editor
Key Responsibilities:
- Editing and proofreading ELT textbooks and related materials to the highest standards of style and accuracy
- Researching and adapting material according to specific cultures or markets
- Writing new material in the process of making cultural adaptations
- Working according to a consistency checklist or style guide
- Preparing artwork briefs and searching for appropriate images
- Developing content for interactive activities
- Matching different components of a book and detecting inconsistencies
- Reviewing and quality control of the content in interactive books
- Ensuring processes and schedules are adhered to troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions
- Quality-checking typescripts throughout the copyediting process
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in English Literature, Linguistics or Education
- Excellent English language communication skills, both spoken and written
- A good understanding of the needs of teachers and learners
- A demonstrable interest in and preferably experience of English language teaching
- Knowledge in the differences between British English and American English (not a must)
- Knowledge of international English tests such as the SAT (not a must)
- Knowledge of basic computer skills

- A perceptive view regarding design features in schoolbooks

Working Hours: ON SITE
Monday till Friday: 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM
Saturdays: 8:00 AM- 1:30 PM
