JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations implementing procedures, conducting training, plant audits, and follow-ups on corrective action. Ensure that each site complies fully with the regulatory, company, and corporate requirements
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategy and Performance Management:
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Department short to mid-term strategic plan to ensure alignment with the Department's strategic priorities, and the corporate goals.
- Contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial and strategic objectives.
- Monitor, control and report key performance indicators related to the Environment Operations Section in order to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
People Management:
- Manage the activities of direct reports to ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient manner, in line with the annual business plans, policies and procedures.

- Implement developmental plans to assist qualified Qatari Nationals to occupy potential vacancies so as toadhere to stipulated Qatarization targets.
Organization Structure:
- Contribute to defining an optimum structure for the Environment Operations Section, to ensure smooth workflow of operational processes and optimal utilization of resources.
Budget Planning:
- Provide input into the preparation and consolidation of the Section's budget, monitor financial performance during the year and identify areas of unsatisfactory performance (if any), and recommend mitigating actions.
Regulations, Permits and Renewals:
- Obtain applicable permits and renewals with local regulatory agencies, State Environmental Authorities, Ministry of Environment, Industrial Cities Authorities, Traffic and Civil Defense Departments and Local Municipalities to avoid any delay in maintaining and renewing required permits of operation or construction.
- Review local, regional, and international regulations on waste management, and communicate compliance to all affected areas, to make sure Company stays up to date to the current applicable environmental regulatory requirements.
Records and Inventories:
- Develop and maintain management information systems which identify the location of hazardous materials in all facilities.
- Classify and provide information about hazardous waste and other dangerous materials for the purpose of safety in their transportation, use and disposal.
- Maintain accurate records related to chemical inventories in order to comply with regulations and to ensure employee safety.
Reporting Compliance to Authorities and Stakeholders:
- Prepare and submit monitoring and surveying records to local authorities.
- Prepare and submit Compliance Action Plans (CAP) to authorities and follow-up on these plans for timely completion.
- Prepare sustainability records and collaborate closely with Public Relations to prepare publications on company's performance to shareholders, authorities, and general public.
Training and Programs:
- Update and deliver employee training programs related to hazardous materials and waste, supervise work of company's contractors involved in removing or testing hazardous materials, to make sure that all activities are performed safely and zero incident.
- Implement Environmental Management System, Pollution Prevention, Resources Conservation Programs, and let Environmental Engineers participates actively, suggests improvement opportunities to these environmental compliance programs for continues improvement.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures:
- Recommend improvements to departmental procedures, and ensure implementation of policies, procedures, systems, and controls covering the assigned areas of responsibility so that all activities meet Company's standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements, align to business requirements, and increase operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account international leading practices, in order to increase operational effectiveness.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery ofhigh-quality products/services.
- Investigate employee complaints concerning exposure to hazardous materials or air pollutants and identify root causes and implement corrective actions that prevent or reduce the number of hazardous occurrences.
Reporting:
- Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, and meet the Department's requirements, policies, and standards.
- Assist the Environmental Engineer in generating reports such as daily and monthly monitoring, historical weather data, and monthly environmental KPIs accurately and timely, in order to control, identify potential problem and recommend immediate corrective actions.
Qatarization
- Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or any related discipline.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Experience
Required : 5-7 years of experience in the Oil &Gas Industry out of which 3-5 years at a Specialist / Professional level.
Preferred : Experience in Petrochemicals Industry.

- HAZMAT Level 1 minimum
- ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
Languages
Required : English - proficient
Preferred : Arabic - working knowledge
