Job Summary:
The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and analyzing various factors to ensure project feasibility and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, with excellent analytical, communication, and technical skills to prepare comprehensive cost estimations for projects of varying complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and overheads for projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and scope.
- Bid Preparation: Assist in preparing bids and proposals for projects by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and scope of work, and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Design Review: Review and analyze project designs, drawings, and technical documents to identify any discrepancies, cost-saving opportunities, and potential design adjustments.
- Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain quotations and ensure that the best prices and terms are obtained for materials and services.
- Project Cost Control: Track project costs during the execution phase, comparing actual expenditures with initial estimates, and report any significant variances to the management team.
- Risk Analysis: Perform risk assessments related to cost estimation and propose mitigation strategies to minimize financial risks to the company.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring that cost-effective solutions are implemented during the execution of projects.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, bid documents, and project proposals, and prepare regular reports for management.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, new construction techniques, materials, and technologies to improve estimating accuracy and cost efficiency.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience:
- Minimum of [5] years of experience in cost estimation, project management, or a related engineering field.
