Primary Objective:
The Examinations Officer is responsible for managing examination processes across all schools, from initial entry submission to results communication. Key responsibilities include overseeing invigilation, ensuring a conducive exam room environment, and addressing student access requirements. The Examinations Officer has thorough knowledge of IGCSE, IA Level, BTEC, and national qualifications and specifications. Acting with honesty and integrity, they are meticulous in attention to detail and stay up to date with relevant skills and knowledge. This role requires forging positive professional relationships and collaborating closely with stakeholders in the students best interests. Ensuring student safeguarding and well-being is paramount, aligning with the school's statutory policies. Ultimately, the Examinations Officer ensures the effective administration of all Misk Schools assessments, supporting the school's commitment to achieving excellent academic outcomes for all students.
Areas of responsibility:
- Manage the efficient administration of external exams in compliance with awarding bodies rules and regulations.
- Support the Head of Centre in maintaining examination compliance and upholding the security and integrity of assessments.
- Serve as the primary contact for the Centre regarding all general administrative matters for awarding body exams and assessments.
- Liaise with key stakeholders (internal and external) to strictly adhere to exam administration processes and meet crucial deadlines.
- Oversee the exam room environment to ensure smooth operations and compliance during exams.
- Ensure timely and accurate entry submissions, timetable scheduling, and communication of examination plans.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of invigilators to maintain exam integrity.
- Coordinate with the Academic Vice Principal on exam room scheduling and requirements.
- Ensure effective management and communication of exam results.
- Collaborate with the Learning Support Team for applications related to examination access arrangements and coordinate provisions for testing access needs.
- Advise staff on examination policies and provide invigilation training as required
- Train all staff involved in invigilation and exam administration.
- Organize examination schedules for students during key examination periods.
- Oversee submission of Cambridge PDQ training assessments for internal staff.
- Support the teaching teams in ensuring that all students meet the school's progress and attainment targets.
- Support with invigilation of examinations, as required.
Safeguarding:
- The Examinations Officer is responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, following the school's safeguarding policies and staff code of conduct.
- Working proactively and ethically, they support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in upholding student safety. They take steps to prevent malpractice or maladministration before, during, and after exams.
Suitable qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (essential)
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent (desirable)
- Professional development in examination administration/office management (essential).
Desirable experience:
- At least two years relevant experience.
- Evidence of contributing to, or driving, successful academic results
- Evidence in high quality use of various ICT platforms and software.
- Evidence of understanding IGCSE, A-Level and B-Tech qualifications
- Evidence of understanding national assessments, NAFS, Tahsili and Qudrat.
