The Excavator Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating an excavator to perform tasks such as digging trenches, foundations, grading, and lifting materials on construction sites. The operator must follow all safety guidelines and ensure the equipment is properly maintained.
Operate Excavator: Safely operate excavators to complete various tasks including trenching, digging, and material movement.
Site Preparation: Clear and prepare sites for construction by removing debris, trees, and rocks.
Trenching and Excavation: Excavate trenches for utility installations such as water, sewer, and electrical lines.
Grading: Perform grading tasks to ensure the ground is level and prepared for construction activities.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Maintenance: Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance, report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
Collaboration: Work closely with the site supervisor, project managers, and other construction workers to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of work completed, equipment usage, and any incidents.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating an excavator in a construction or similar environment.
Certification: Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification or license.
Knowledge: Understanding of excavation techniques, soil types, and construction site procedures.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long periods, handle heavy machinery, and work in various weather conditions.
Communication Skills: Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
