About the location:

seaside retreat in the heart of Qatar's capital; experience the completely new Four Seasons Hotel Doha, reimagined with modern grandeur and sparkling with sunlight and sea views. From the elegant lobby to energetic restaurants and lounges, our beachfront urban retreat has been transformed into a vibrant hotspot, while remaining true to our Qatari roots. This stunning urban beachfront retreat opened in April 2005 in the heart of the business district, and has 237 rooms and 20 unbranded townhouses villas, a large Food and Beverage operation with 10 stunning venues including the world's largest Nobu restaurant, significant banquets/outside catering, five pools and a private beach, fitness center, and a spa and wellness center offering guests expansive hydrotherapy facilities including an ice room, colour therapy room, steam room and hydrotherapy pool. The hotel completed a beautiful renovation in 2019 and re-opened in March 2020.

The Food & Beverage Supervisor is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. The Food & Beverage Supervisor position provides an enjoyable, expertly served beverage or dining experience conforming to Four Seasons standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness. F&B Supervisor anticipate and service guests needs before being asked and are knowledgeable about all available menu options, beverage lists and daily specials. Ensuring that guest's request item has been served correctly without failed.

Job Description: -

  • Supervising the floor during meal periods to ensure that all standards and sequence of service are met through all the guests interactions.
  • Suggest the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering appealing and precise descriptions of each item's ingredients, taste, and preparation methods; not only take orders as guest did but proactively figure out any possibility that elevates guest dining experience by Value Added Recommendation.
  • Communicate rapidly and accurately with the kitchen about any needs or requests regarding guests; coordinate food timings; check completed kitchen orders with the guest's original order; serve items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure excellent food quality
  • Anticipates guest needs, ascertains satisfaction, offers suggestions, and responds urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. If it's necessary, take the proper action first which is deemed wise and effectual and report to upper management afterwards;
  • Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.
  • Coordinates section of tables needs using service staff as a support in means of better serving the guests.
  • Ensures the work area is ready for service with pre- and post-service checks completed; assists in preparation of mise-en-place
  • Directs colleagues and takes responsibility for quality and sequence of service in his/her work area; takes orders for, serves (where applicable, prepares) food and beverages to guests as per hotel standards in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner
  • Is thoroughly familiar with wines and menu items and able to compose and recommend suitable menu progression and wine pairing; upsells sensitively
  • Provides genuine hospitality and recognition, acts as host/hostess in the work area. Keeps abreast of events in the hotel and promotes services and product.
  • Engages in guest interaction in a sensitive and appropriate manner; anticipates guest needs and ascertains satisfaction; takes ownership of guest concerns and requests and acts decisively to ensure guest satisfaction when glitches occur
  • Is highly sensitive to guest preferences; assists in compiling guest history; offers a special service touch when an opportunity is presented.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to the staff. Observe performance and encourage when necessary
  • Communicate with guest and employees using a positive and clear speaking voice. Listen to understand requests respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information.
  • Work closely with the assistant/Manager in monthly inventory of beverages, china ware, glasses, silverware, and linen. Assist the assistant and Manager in the training, supervising, counseling.
  • Support the entire Food and Beverage operation including supervising other areas if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in same field.
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Working computer skills and knowledge including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet and Micros.
  • Good personal & professional references.
