New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Facilties, Equipment & Competition Manager, reporting to the Assistant Director of Athletics, Facilities & Operations.

The Facility, Equipment & Competition Manager is responsible for the day to day scheduling, management & coordination of all of the athletic spaces on campus (Performance Gymnasium, Fitness Center, Womens Only Gym, Campus Center Courts & Studios, 50m Competition Pool) and the North Site Outdoor Sports Complex. The role also manages the inventory, purchase and maintenance of all athletic equipment, apparel and supplies used in NYU Abu Dhabis Department of Athletics teams, programs, events and activities. Alongside, the position is responsible for the operational planning, set-up, and management of all intercollegiate matches, fixtures, tournaments and departmental activities ensuring these are sufficiently resourced in collaboration with the NYUAD FMSP. The role will work closely with the Athletics Operations and External Sports Relations Manager and NYUAD Facilities Management on facility maintenance, space enhancements and effective use of sports operating systems and software in collaboration with departmental areas and other relevant university departments.

Key Responsibilities:


Facility Management: Manage the day to day operations and scheduling of all NYUAD Athletics facilities within the Campus Center and North Site (including but not limited to: Performance Gym, Fitness Center, WO Gym, Athletic Studios & Indoor Courts, 50m Indoor Pool, Grass pitches, 400m Track and Tennis Courts)
Collaborating with university stakeholders to plan, schedule and implement annual, quarterly and emergency facility maintenance
Support the development and planning of facility improvement and life cycling plans
Equipment & Apparel Management and Procurement & Strategic Sourcing: Manage the sourcing, procurement, purchase, inventory, and storage of all the equipment and apparel in the Athletic Department
Work with university FM to manage the equipment according to the university Lifecycle Program to ensure the equipment is in good working condition and replaced in a timely manner
Oversee the management, distribution and collection of all athletic equipment and uniforms and arrange for replacement or repairs when needed
Employee Supervision & Mentorship; Manages the day to day rotation, training, supervision, and evaluation of all functional areas of athletics operational staff, student and contract employees serving in athletic facilities
Conduct training and orientation programs, guidance, instruction, and advising for facilities and operational staff related to best practices in facility and event management safety practices and emergency management
Event, Tournament & Game Day Management: Manages the operational planning, set-up, and management all intercollegiate matches & tournaments hosted on campus
Maintain and implements operational policies and procedures such as inclement weather policies, heat management plans, emergency medical response plans, and game day protocols
Train and supervise contracted staff and student hires in the best practices of game management
Teaching & Coaching: develop, plan, instruct at least one Physical and Health Education Class per semester, and coach a university sports team
Contribute to the University and Student Affairs Division-wide programs, including admissions events, new student orientation and student leadership training

Qualifications:

Required Education:


Bachelors Degree in a related field
Current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications or the ability to secure certifications before start date

Required Experience:


3+ years of experience managing or coordinating sports or multipurpose facilties
Experience of delivering game day, sports events and/or tournament operations and experiences
Knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies of a university athletic program
Knowledge of methods of cleaning, maintaining and preparing of athletic uniforms and equipment
Knowledge of proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies
Knowledge of record keeping techniques
Ability to maintain and repair clothing and equipment
Ability to operate various athletic equipment and tools
Ability to operate a computer terminal
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work
Ability to meet schedules and timelines
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Preferred Education:


Bachelors Degree in a sports of facility management related field (sports administration, sports management, recreation management, sports studies)
Pool Plant Operator Certification

Preferred Experience:


3+ years experience working in an athletic department within higher education responsible for sports and recreation facility and/or equipment management
Knowledge of operating the Finish lynx track timing system
Knowledge of operating the Quantum timing system
Staff management & rostering
