Job Description

UPM is looking for a Saudi of the highest caliber to fill the vacancy of Facility Management Specialist:

Functional Description:

The Facility Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of the university's facilities. This includes implementing effective facility management strategies, conducting regular inspections, coordinating maintenance services, and ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all university stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to managing facility assets, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting the strategic objectives of the Executive Affairs Rectorate in line with university standards and policies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Facility Operations and Maintenance

  • Oversee daily facility operations to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams and vendors for routine and emergency repairs, as well as preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of university facilities to identify and address safety and maintenance issues.

Project Management

  • Assist in planning, budgeting, and executing facility management projects, including renovations, upgrades, and space reconfigurations.
  • Manage timelines, resources, and quality control for facility projects in collaboration with relevant departments.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Implement and monitor safety and environmental standards in compliance with university policies and government regulations.
  • Ensure that fire safety, emergency evacuation plans, and health protocols are established, regularly reviewed, and communicated.

Resource and Asset Management

  • Monitor and manage facility resources to optimize cost-efficiency while ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility-related data, including equipment, maintenance schedules, and vendor documentation.

Support Service Improvement

  • Identify areas for improvement in facility operations, proposing and implementing solutions for enhanced service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluating facility management efficiency and effectiveness.

Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare and present regular reports on facility management activities, costs, and issues to the Executive Affairs Rectorate.
  • Coordinate and communicate with university departments to understand facility needs and support requirements.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or any related field.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in facility management, preferably in an educational or large-scale institutional setting.
  • Strong knowledge of facility management best practices, including maintenance and operations management.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to facility management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating with multiple departments.
