Job Summary
The Factory/ Plant Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure efficient and effective production of our premium pet food products. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to motivate and develop team members while maintaining high levels of safety and quality with a focus on production efficiency, and cost management
Job Responsibilities
Manage and Oversee Manufacturing Operations:
Manage and oversee all manufacturing operations, including production scheduling, quality assurance, inventory control, and maintenance.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize factory productivity, efficiency, and safety.
Monitor production output, identify bottlenecks or issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Manage and Direct Factory Workforce:
Manage and direct the factory's workforce, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of production, maintenance, and support staff.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, to resolve production issues and achieve operational goals.
Analyze Data and Drive Continuous Improvement:
Analyze production data, costs, and other metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Prepares and submits operating reports to management to inform them of the current production status and to make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality control requirements.
Act as Liaison and Representative:
Represent the factory and liaise with senior leadership, customers, and other stakeholders.
Manage the factory's budget and control costs to meet financial targets.
Desired Candidate Profile
Profile:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field
8-12 years of experience in a food manufacturing or production is a must (5+ years of management experience)
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proficient in using Microsoft office, manufacturing software and data analysis tools
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Proven leadership and team-building abilities
Flexibility to adapt to changing production requirements and market demands
