Responsibilities
- Complete antenna repairs, and pedestal repairs on a wide variety of radar & telemetry systems.
- Installs equipment and field upgrades. Assembles and/or modifies wires, insulation and components using hand and power tools. Installs assemblies and hardware into housing.
- Uses manuals, hand tools and precision testing equipment to perform repairs and refurbishments.
- Performs maintenance, repair, and general refurbishment of a wide variety of instrumentation equipment and sub components.
- Repairs basic to complex malfunctions by adjusting, calibrating, aligning, or modifying electrical circuits and mechanical components using hand and power tools.
- Supports design, development, fabrication, integration, installation and post testing of rebuilt or modified equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Hands-on experience with radar systems to include maintenance, system operation, and calibration.
- Experience with some of the following sub-systems: antennas, transmitters, receivers, HV power supplies. Mechanical subsystems include pedestal, servos and servo control systems, gearboxes, and heat exchangers.
- Must have experience with an understanding of the concepts, procedures and guidelines necessary to solve highly complex mechanical problems during refurbishments of radar, telemetry, and other systems.
- Experience using a variety of tools to dissemble, assemble, and repair mechanical systems.
- Must be adaptable and experienced with developing solutions in the field.
