Job Overview
The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial reporting activities for the organization. He/She will report to the Finance Controller and shall be responsible for ensuring all financial reports are accurate, timely, and in compliance with company and applicable accounting standards and regulations.He/she should be a professionally qualified accountant with a strong analytical and problem-solving attitude and have a proactive approach to dealing with the jobs assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation and control of group policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with all accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
- To develop and implement process improvements to streamline financial reporting processes and enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Overseeing the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Managing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure deadlines are met and financial reports are accurate.
- Monitor and analyze financial trends and variances and provide recommendations for improvement to senior management.
- Providing financial analysis and insights to senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- To ensure all intercompany statements of accounts are updated and reconciled with books of relevant group companies.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as tax, treasury, and legal, to ensure alignment and coordination on financial reporting matters.
- Staying current on accounting and financial reporting developments and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and best practices are followed..
- Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with insurance requirements, coordinating with insurance providers, managing coverage renewals, and handling claims processing.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely ZAKAT, VAT & Withholding tax reporting and compliance with applicable tax regulations.
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process and to address any audit findings or recommendations.
- Implementation of actions to address audit observations.
- Manage and lead a team of financial reporting accountants, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects assigned from time to time.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fiance or Accounting or any related field
- +5 years of experience in similar role
- ACCA, CA or CPA certification is required
- IFRS
- Local Zakat & Tax Regulations
- ERP System (preferably MS Dynamics)
- MS Office applications i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
