The Finishing Charge Hand is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the finishing works on construction projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget. This role requires hands-on leadership, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of various finishing processes in the construction industry.
Supervision & Coordination:- Supervise a team of skilled workers involved in finishing works, including painting, plastering, tiling, carpentry, and more.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and completion of work.- Ensure all finishing activities are carried out according to the project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Quality Control:- Inspect and monitor finishing works to ensure high-quality workmanship.
Identify and rectify any defects or issues in finishing works promptly.- Work closely with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager to maintain quality control throughout the finishing phase.
Planning & Execution:- Plan daily tasks and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
Assist in developing and updating the project schedule, focusing on the finishing works.- Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are available and in good working condition.
Health & Safety:- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations on-site.
Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for the finishing team.- Ensure all team members use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.
Reporting & Documentation:- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time sheets, material usage, and any issues encountered.
Report daily progress to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.- Assist in preparing reports for site meetings and client updates.
- Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certifications in construction or a related field is a plus.Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role focusing on finishing works.Skills:- Strong knowledge of finishing techniques and materials.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
