Job OverviewAs a General Surgeon, you will be responsible for performing surgical procedures to treat various medical conditions and injuries. This role requires a high level of expertise in surgical techniques, patient care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary medical teams.
- Responsibilities & Duties
Perform Surgical Procedures: Conduct a wide range of surgical procedures including but not limited to appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, bowel surgeries, and other general surgeries.
- Patient Care: Evaluate patients medical histories and conduct physical examinations to determine the best course of treatment. Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including monitoring patients progress and recommending additional therapies or adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care. Participate actively in multidisciplinary medical team meetings to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and outcomes.- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and postoperative care instructions to ensure informed decision-making and compliance with treatment plans.
Research and Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in surgical techniques, medical research, and healthcare technology.
Must have a Bachelors degree of Medicine.
- Must have Masters degree in General Surgery.
Must have a QCHP license as a General Surgeon with approved privileges.- Must have a minimum of 5 years of total experience, 3 years as a Specialist General Surgeon.
Excellent attention to detail during consultations with patients and reviewing medical records.
- Strong interpersonal skills within the medical team and also with patients.
Strong clinical diagnostic skills and communications.- Commitment to a high standard of care through the promotion and maintenance of skin health.
