Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan collection, analyzing, and integrating spatial data from various sources including RGB images, Lidar, point cloud data etc.
- Create and maintain GIS databases and ensure data accuracy. Follow local and regional GIS policies and procedures.
- Develop maps and visual representations of data for reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify GIS needs and provide solutions.
- Stay updated with GIS technology trends and software advancements and develop strategies to implement them effectively.
- Train and support staff in using GIS tools and applications.
- Collection and integration of spatial and attribute data related to the electrical distribution network.
- Maintaining the imported GIS database, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility for all users.
- Developing and implementing GIS-based applications and tools to support various departments within the organization.
- Collaborating with other departments to integrate GIS with other systems and processes.
- Preparing and presenting GIS data and analysis reports to management and stakeholders.
- Staying updated with the latest GIS technologies and trends to ensure the organization's GIS capabilities remain current and effective.
- Ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
- Work closely with Drone Pilots to perform data capture and analysis for surveying & mapping related jobs.
- Post process RGB data for feature extractions included Ortho mosaics, point cloud, 3D as built models, DEM, DSM, Raster files, Cut/Fill Volume, Volumetric Calculations, CAD and other deliverables.
- Work in compliance with GIS standards and quality policies.
Key Skills
- Knowledge of remote sensing and data visualization techniques with creativity and aesthetic approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in latest software's (e.g., Pix4D, DJI Terra, Agisoft metashape, Global Mapper, ArcFM, ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, GRASS GIS, Reality Capture etc.)
- Experience with the latest data collection software and tools.
- Expertise in acquiring, processing, and analyzing spatial data.
- Hands-on expertise of various geospatial data formats (e.g., vector, raster, LiDAR)
- Understanding of power systems, utilities, and their integration with GIS applications
- Experience with design and development tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, CloudCompare, and GeoDatabase management.
- Knowledge of data maintenance practices, data quality assurance, and database management.
- Good understanding of Python GIS libraries (e.g., GDAL, Shapely, Fiona) and relevant functions for data analysis and visualization
- Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail in spatial data and analysis
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret and analyze complex geospatial data
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address GIS-related challenges
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders

- Experience managing GIS projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.

Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's in Engineering, Geomatics, Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
Person Specification
- 5-6 years of related experience.
- Previous experience as GIS Data processor, RS Analyst, Programming, related roles
- Certification in GIS (e.g., GISP)
- Experience with Electricity utility control centers or working with Topographic Survey Teams.
