Grain, Oilseeds, Pulses, Operations/ Execution Officer. Agri commodities, Location; (UAE - Dubai)
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently working with an established trading house, based in Dubai who are seeking a self-motivated agriculture execution/operations officer to join an establishes business. The candidate would be responsible for working closely with the commercial team and executing / facilitating commodity contracts, goods transport, and ensuring all document compliance to ensure the smooth flows of grains, oilseeds, pulses, agri commodities per year. The candidate should have a good knowledge of this market and should have some sound knowledge of trade execution, contractual & legal understanding.
Position Purpose:
- Daily Handling of agriculture shipments and ensuring physical and financial strategies are correctly represented in companies systems.
- Provide information as required to Trade Operation Manager and Head of Dubai - Agri Trading regarding all aspects of the grain business (physical grain, vessel positions, financial strategies, price exposure, laycans & discharge windows, trade pricing, hedge position, demurrage/despatch calculations).
- Identify opportunities to optimize cargo lifts and create additional value through proactive handling of vessels and positions.
- Recognize (potential) issues and report them.
- Collect, analyse and report data in order to track the performance of the operations.
- Assist the trade
Principal Accountabilities:
- Day to Day executions of shipments. Be able to execute a shipment from A to Z.
- Daily handling, review and reconciliation of physical positions.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the companies system s ensuring that all physical positions, direct costs, budgets, freight rates & differentials, trade prices, and financial strategies are correctly captured.
- Close coordination with Treasury and banks for bank collections, l/c issuance & handling, TSF
- Provide information flow to Trade Operations Manager regarding all operational matters.
- Identify opportunities to optimize positions maximising/minimizing cargo lifts, changing laycans/load dates, rolling hedges as appropriate
- Assist the other team members as required
Job Requirements:
- At least 2-5+ years or more of direct work experience with a large commodity trading company in agriculture (grains, oilseeds, pulses).
- Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related discipline
- Experience with trade documentation.
- Excellent knowledge of Letter of Credit, UCP600, Incoterms, GAFTA, ANEC. Knowledge of NAEGA, Incograin is an advantage.
- Experience in dealing with dry bulk vessels and containers
- Experience in future give ups and linking futures hedges to physical contracts
- Experience in currency covers linking to the deals
- Knowledge of demurrage/despatch calculations.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Possess Team spirit and able to work independently
- Possess strong initiative, good interpersonal & communication skills with different levels of people
- Able to work in an hectic environment.
- English is a must.
