Job Outline:
The Group IT Senior System Engineer is responsible for administering on-premises IT services, including Active Directory, SCCM, Hyper-V, Middleware, Hardware, and Backups, alongside managing some cloud-based tasks such as Intune and Microsoft Entra. The role also involves providing second-level support to Helpdesk teams across the organization. This position ensures the smooth operation of daily IT tasks, troubleshooting incidents, and supporting the Helpdesk in maintaining an efficient and secure IT environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administrate IT infrastructure, both on-premises and cloud-based.
- Manage Active Directory (creating, modifying, enabling, and disabling user accounts).
- Provide support and troubleshooting for incidents escalated from the Service Desk.
- Monitor and prepare reports on user and computer management activities.
- Validate monthly updates and ensure their deployment across the organization.
- Support the Helpdesk team by ensuring new computers have the necessary applications.
- Communicate with team leaders and supervisors regarding critical daily tasks.
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including querying AD for incomplete user data and ensuring the physical state of servers and racks.
- Manage SCCM, generate required reports, and ensure server uptime after updates.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by leadership.
Person Specifications:
- Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of IT systems administration, including Active Directory, SCCM, Hyper-V, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Intune and Entra.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution skills.
- Proficient in generating and analyzing IT system reports.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with Helpdesk teams and reporting to leadership.
- Ability to handle scheduled maintenance and ensure smooth IT operations.
- Experience with IT support tools and remote management of systems.
