Hooka Times Restaurant is looking for a Head Barista in Hamra.
The Head Barista is responsible for leading the barista team, ensuring the highest quality of coffee and customer service, and managing the daily operations of the coffee shop. This role requires a passion for coffee, strong leadership skills, and a dedication to creating an exceptional experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership and Training
- Lead, mentor, and train barista staff to ensure consistency and excellence in coffee preparation.
- Conduct regular training sessions on coffee brewing techniques, equipment maintenance, and customer service.
- Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to meet business needs.
2. Coffee Quality and Preparation
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and espresso drinks according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain a deep understanding of coffee beans, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
- Ensure all beverages meet the company's quality standards before serving.
3. Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regular customers to enhance their experience.
4. Inventory and Stock Management
- Manage inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Order and receive shipments, ensuring proper storage and rotation of stock.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
5. Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure all coffee equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues; coordinate with vendors for major repairs.
- Train staff on proper equipment use and maintenance procedures.
6. Operations and Administration
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and daily reconciliations.
- Implement and enforce health and safety standards in accordance with local regulations.
- Participate in marketing and promotional activities to drive sales and customer engagement.
7. Product Development
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
- Conduct regular taste tests and quality control assessments.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to keep the menu fresh and appealing.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a barista, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and ordering processes.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
