Head, Digital Technology

Primary purpose of job

Create Digital delivery team and governance in collaboration between business, IT and reputed external vendors to run proof of concepts, minimum viable products, and build data driven digital products. Ensure successful implementation, delivery, and value capture of those products. Adopt an Agile methodology to allow rapid demonstration of results.

Develop and own QatarEnergy's Digital Strategy and Roadmap in alignment with QatarEnergy's Strategic Objectives

Identify and prioritize digital use-cases in coordination with internal sponsors with clear Cost/Benefit and expected ROI from each

Builds the Digital Delivery team and the skills required to execute and develop governance & processes to manage the Digital Function to deliver the Program objectives while identifying new capability gaps and opportunities.

Lead the implementation of Data Analytics, AI and ML solutions to optimize exploration, production, drilling, predictive maintenance, reservoir characterization etc... or other typical use cases in the Energy sector

Monitor Digital technologies and trends, promote innovations and demonstrate value within Qatar Energy

Support business Analytics & Digital literacy program and employ change management best practices to improve adoption of new solutions

Accountable for financial management of the Digital function, including setting the annual budget, quality of reporting and spend oversight.

Setting Digital performance goals and overseeing KPIs, optimizing and prioritizing the backlog of products (pipeline).

Organize or lead the Digital related committees as per the approved governance

Experience & Skills

15 years of experience in core Oil & Gas; such as, Operations, Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Drilling and Wells, Reservoir or Geosciences.

Minimum 6 years of experience in the digital space managing and executing digital program with recognized vendors through a robust digital delivery model.

Good team spirit, leadership, strong interpersonal communication, proven ability to work cross-functionally.

Education

Bachelor's and or a Master's Degree of Science.

Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) in Oil & Gas, Energy Management, or Petroleum Engineering is highly desirable
