We're seeking a qualified individual to fill the Head of Accounting position for one of our clients in the Oil and Gas Industry, located in Dubai.
Job Location: Dubai
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Must have Bachelor's degree in accountancy or equivalent
Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred.
Prior experience in an external audit firm is highly desirable.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with relevant years within oil trading sector
Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards
Some knowledge in indirect tax, corporate tax, and transfer pricing
Responsibilities:
Partner with Business and Management to develop strategic plans.
Provide financial reports of the company and interpret financial information for management while recommending further courses of action.
Oversee and manage operational accounting and management reporting for all entities.
Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the books and records.
Ensure regular review of account reconciliations including follow up and timely closure of open items.
Responsible for timely delivery of management, financial and regulatory reporting, and statistical surveys
Liaise with external auditors to arrange external auditor's appointment, statutory audit, and annual financial statements.
Preparation of monthly forecast and annual budget.
Review business processes to improve and strengthen internal controls.
Ensure compliance of regulatory reporting to regulatory authorities
Liaise with internal teams globally to ensure timely corporate tax and VAT filing.
Liaise with local tax bureau officials and support all data requirements for their reviews.
Work closely with intercompany teams to ensure entity structure is appropriately operationalized.
Coach and develop employees in a continuously changing environment. Empower employees to execute tasks independently.
