Position: Head of Business Unit

The role of the Head of Business Unit is responsible for leading one of our large categories across the region. The Head of Business Unit will develop and own the Profit & Loss (P&L) and strategy for the category by driving growth, managing profitability, and enhancing the customer experience through strong analytical skills, business judgment, and vendor management.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive the growth of the assigned category.
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities and trends to expand the category.
- Analyze market data and customer insights to devise category strategy and initiatives.
- Use data-driven approaches to identify and prioritize growth opportunities within the category.
- Own the category's P&L and implement initiatives to optimize profitability.
- Monitor financial performance, including revenue, costs, and margins, to ensure category profitability.
- Develop and execute pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profit margins.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance the online and offline shopping journey, addressing customer pain points with relevant internal teams
- Monitor and analyze customer reviews and ratings to identify areas for improvement and drive customer loyalty.
- Support sourcing team in negotiating favorable terms and agreements with suppliers, focusing on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Work closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations from manufacturer to customer.
- Use data-driven insights to optimize supply chain performance and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Utilize strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to inform category strategy and decision-making.
- Perform detailed financial analysis to support P&L management and profitability initiatives.
- Conduct scenario analysis and forecasting to support strategic planning and business decisions.
- Present analytical findings and insights to senior management and stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, finance, supply chain, and product development to drive category initiatives.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of category strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging cross-functional expertise and insights.
- Communicate category vision, strategy, and goals clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and idea sharing.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on category performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in marketing, management, engineering
- MBA/Master degree is preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in category management, vendor management, and strategy development.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent business judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to coordinate with and drive cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to drive category growth and profitability.
- Deep curiosity to uncover how things work and a passion for improving customer experience.
- Leadership presence with excellent communication skills, capable of representing ABYAT at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
