Position Summary:
The Head of KAUST Health is responsible for KAUST Health services, ensuring that they meet the needs of the KAUST Community and adhere to international and Kingdom accreditation standards for quality, safety and excellence. He/ She will operationally oversee the Medical Services contract with the KAUST Health Services Partner, ensuring strong resource management, contract compliance and KPI achievement and monitoring. You will be responsible for the Family and Child Support Center, and the interventions and activity programs associated.
Major Responsibilities:
- KAUST Health Strategy: Lead the development and periodic reviews for the KAUST Health mission, vision, values and ethical framework. Will develop, gain approval and assume responsibility for the implementation of the KAUST Health strategic plan.
- Contract oversight and compliance: Define the scope of the medical services contract and continually assess its effectiveness, utilization and appropriateness for the current needs of the KAUST community. Recommend to KAUST leadership for any amendments, changes or actions for the contract when needed and appropriate. Operationally lead any contract tendering activity and work with the KAUST Contracts Team and Procurement to ensure successful completion of any work ensuring compliance with regulations and value for money for KAUST.
- Community Health and Wellbeing: Develop, implement, analyze and review community wellbeing programs focusing on health and wellbeing promotion/prevention. This will include chronic disease management, topic specific promotion programs (e.g. smoking cessation, nutrition, mental health), key events (e.g. breast cancer awareness, flu campaign, autism awareness) screening programs and general public health promotion campaigns.
- Patient Liaison: Responsible for the delivery of exceptional services, including acting as the escalation point for any patient issues, queries or complaints.
- Market insight and knowledge: Ensure up-to-date knowledge of the healthcare providers, provision and developments in the Kingdom and Jeddah region specifically. Identify opportunities for innovation and collaboration where appropriate. Remain informed of any Ministry of Health and other governmental organizations policies, guidelines or other information which may impact on the service offering and operational delivery in KAUST Health.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee the financial performance of the KAUST Health contract and services, working with the Finance and Budgeting team to develop annual budget proposals, review current financial performance and forecasting.
- Team leadership, management and development: Provide leadership and direction to the KAUST Health administration team including setting clear objectives and measurable KPIs, identifying training and development needs and creating plans (including succession planning) for the team. Ensure strong and regular general communications with all team members.
- Quality Management: Ensure all aspects of the health and wellbeing services are underpinned by strong, safe and effective quality and governance frameworks. Aligning with in-Kingdom CBAHI and global Joint Commission International standards for effective delivery of quality healthcare. Accountable for improving quality and meeting customer satisfaction in the community, addressing concerns and implementing action plans as required.
- Emergency Management: Ensure that appropriate strategies are in place to handle medical emergencies and medical crisis management for KAUST Health and the community. Ensure pathways to Jeddah for ambulance transfers from KAUST are in place and operationally/systemically working to allow speedy and effective assessment and treatment of community members.
- Committee Management: Approve all KAUST Health operational and quality committees structures and review annual reports related to their performance and outcome and reports on the outcome to KAUST leadership.
- Management Reporting and Analysis: Work with the data analysis team to understand KAUST Health operational data and utilize this to report to relevant stakeholders and supported informed decision- making. Includes the development and maintenance of a reporting dashboard.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
- A Master's in public or healthcare administration is preferred.
- Role specific clinical qualification (if applicable).
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field and leadership position.
- Strong healthcare/hospital administration background and experience.
