As a The Head of Quantity Surveying at Royal International Construction is responsible for overseeing all quantity surveying activities across
the organization. This role ensures accurate cost estimation, effective cost control, and financial management of construction projects,
contributing to the overall financial health and success of the company.

Brief Description of Activities:
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
Analyze project specifications and requirements to determine accurate cost projections.Cost Control and Management:
Monitor and control project costs to ensure adherence to budgets.
Identify cost variances and implement corrective measures to mitigate financial risks.Contract Management:
Develop and manage contracts with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Handle contract negotiations and dispute resolution.Financial Reporting:
Prepare regular financial reports, including cost forecasts, cash flow analysis, and budget status.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis.Tender Analysis and Bid Management:
Review and analyze tenders and bids from contractors and suppliers.
Evaluate and recommend the most suitable bids based on cost, quality, and project requirements.Risk Management:
Identify and assess financial risks associated with construction projects.
Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project financial stability.Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor the quantity surveying team, providing guidance and support.
Conduct performance evaluations and implement training programs to enhance team skills and capabilities.Project Progress Payments:
Prepare monthly project progress payments or as per the contracting contract.
Calculate all variations and claims, providing the necessary information to project managers for submission.Documentation and Reporting:
Document any changes in design and prepare variations resulting from these changes.
Prepare reports, analyses, contracts, and budget documents.Advisory Role:
Advise managers and clients on improvements and new strategies for project execution and cost management.Site Visits:
Visit all and any projects as required to ensure compliance with financial and contractual standards.
Managerial Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage the quantity surveying team, including quantity surveyors and cost engineers.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering
Proven work experience as a Head of Quantity Surveying or similar role
Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 5 years in a senior or managerial role
within the construction industry.
TECHNICAL KSAs/ CERTIFICATIONS, ETC.
Construction estimating or finance experienced is advantageous.
Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
Sound knowledge of construction.
