About the Position:
We are recruiting an experienced Head of Risk Management to join Emirates Transport.
This role involves spearheading the creation and execution of a robust risk policy framework and strategy. Its primary focus is to mitigate organizational risks, safeguard our employees, and assets, and uphold the company's reputation. Additionally, this role oversees comprehensive compliance services to ensure adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and our established risk thresholds. Furthermore, it encompasses the development, maintenance, and seamless implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Key Accountabilities:
- Supports Emirates Transport's strategy, participating in decision-making forums and collaborative processes.
- Creates and manages reporting for senior management and the Director of Internal Audit.
- Shapes the direction of the Risk Management function, aligning strategies with ET's priorities.
- Manages departmental budgets, operational plans, and performance targets in line with ET's strategic plan.
- Establishes and leads the operational framework, fostering effective work processes and driving performance.
- Manages product transitions, anticipating portfolio gaps, and overlaps proactively.
- Formulates an integrated risk management framework, advising on strategic plans to maintain asset quality and minimize losses.
- Oversees risk assessment frameworks, confidential reporting, and investigation programs.
- Monitors enterprise-level risks identifies, evaluates, and addresses them across internal departments.
- Reviews periodic risk reports, providing recommendations to the Director of Internal Audit.
- Advises Division Heads on risk and compliance matters, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions.
- Promotes a culture of risk management and compliance through training and awareness initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with industry regulations, standards, and internal policies.
- Manages an organization-wide compliance framework, conducting periodic reviews and investigations.
- Addresses compliance concerns, oversees reporting and ensures appropriate resolution.
- Coordinates compliance training for internal stakeholders.
- Oversees Business Continuity processes, ensuring resilience and valid management systems.
- Develops disaster recovery and contingency plans for critical assets and locations.
- Tests and ensures compliance mechanisms for Business Continuity Management plans.
- Drives implementation of Business Continuity Management standards issued by relevant authorities.
Expected Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration risk management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIA CMA, CFA, or FRM are preferred.
Experience and Skills Set:
- 8 + years in risk management, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibilities. This may include experience in strategic risk planning, compliance, business continuity, and managing diverse risk portfolios.
- Strong Transportation Industry knowledge
- Strong leadership and management abilities to lead a team, set strategic direction, and collaborate with various departments to implement risk management strategies.
- Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate various types of risks (financial, operational, strategic, compliance, etc.) across an organization.
- Proficiency in data analysis and risk modeling, as well as the ability to interpret and apply findings to decision-making processes.
