About the Role

Head of Social Commerce Sales based in Egypt is a highly strategic role to manage social commerce and payment aggregation business. The position is responsible for driving new business growth and developing referral networks and achieving revenue targets in Egypt in close collaboration with multiple in-house stakeholders and external stakeholders. This role involves selling fintech products and services, including SaaS and banking-as-a-service solutions within this domain. Partnering with the MENA team in implementing the organization's growth strategy to establish a strong sales structure, systems & processes and enabling technology and to establish a strong commercial control structure and increasing market share.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to achieve or exceed sales targets & sales goals..
  • Develop sales strategy for sales acceleration, including determining high potential client targets, use cases, verticals, etc.
  • Drive lead-generation and prospecting programs and ensure good response to new leads.
  • Partner with cross functional partners across the region to ensure we have what we need to be successful with our clients.
  • Work with the executive team to develop the go-to-market strategy and ensure we have the right value proposition and product construct to meet client needs.
  • Work with Finance to ensure appropriate incentive structure, modelling and incentive deal review structure and approval process.
  • Work with Legal to ensure client contracts that drive to successful outcomes for both WALEE and our clients.
  • Develop best practices that enable the organization to more rapidly scale to deliver on revenue targets and support KPIs for growth.
  • Identify the most promising merchants and prospects that will help Walee grow a healthy pipeline across various verticals.
  • Help new merchants evaluate Walee's Platform and handle detailed questions about our product capabilities.
  • Effectively work cross-functionally across the organization to shape Walee's product roadmap to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain a solid, well-organized portfolio and nurture key accounts.
  • Orchestrate the entire sales process and act as the main point of contact for merchants and internal stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications:

Fintech Skill-set:

  • Fintech Market Insight: Deep knowledge of fintech industry trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Fintech Product Mastery: Expertise in various fintech solutions, including payment platforms, blockchain, and AI.
  • Technical Presentation: Ability to demonstrate and explain fintech products effectively.
  • BaaS in Fintech: Strong understanding of Banking as a Service in the fintech context.
  • Fintech Market Analysis: Skilled in identifying and capitalizing on emerging fintech market trends.
  • Fintech Solution Design: Adept at architectural fintech solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Fintech Sales Strategy: Experienced in crafting and executing sales strategies for fintech products.
  • Client Technical Support in Fintech: Knowledgeable about post-sales support specific to fintech solutions.
  • Data-Driven Fintech Sales: Proficient in using data analytics for strategic fintech sales.
  • Fintech Compliance Acumen: In-depth understanding of regulatory and security aspects in fintech.
  • Emerging Fintech Tech Awareness: Up-to-date with innovations in fintech like cryptocurrencies, digital wallets, and Neo-banking.
  • Fintech Tech Communication: Skilled in conveying complex fintech concepts to diverse audiences.

Generic Skill-set:

  1. Minimum of 10 - 15 years of related industry experience, in leading sales teams in the fintech industry, specifically in payment aggregation, requirements, market trends, and competitor landscape.
  2. Financial/payment industry knowledge required, push payments or real-time payments experience a plus.
  3. Results-driven mindset with a track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in the MENA region.
  4. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  5. Creative Self-starter with a bias toward action and proven track record for successfully developing, building, launching and commercializing technology products that delight customers.
  6. In-depth understanding of payment aggregation products, services, and industry trends.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on delivering for clients.
  8. Excellent listening and communication skills (both verbal and written), and executive presence.
  9. Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to a broad audience in an approachable way to drive adaptation.
  10. Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results.
  11. Passionate about what you do and excited about the opportunity to transform payments working for the industry leader.
  12. Strong team player, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating across functional activities, obtain buy-in and elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately.
  13. Possess a high level of professionalism and leadership skills to build business relationships, trust and respect with business partners and suppliers.
  14. Fluency in Arabic is a must, along with excellent proficiency in English, to effectively communicate in the region.
