Job description- Overall Purpose of the role
HSE Engineer is responsible for the implementation of safety engineering policies and programs that embrace a range of matters directly or indirectly concerned with safety and protection. Assignments also include responsibility for the technical adequacy of plans, designs, and specifications for improvement of safety programs within a facility.
- Expectations & Responsibilities related to your role
· Reviewing & approving of contractors Health and Safety Plan as per the client and other legal requirements.
· Reviewing method statements/risk assessments for Contractors.
· Monitoring occupational health and safety implementations at construction sites in accordance with legal requirements & technical specification.
· Evaluate Workplace Safety by Performing inspections to verify that activities are conducted safely.
· Carry out weekly joint EHS inspection with contractor personnel and ensuring all the corrective/preventive actions are closed out.
· Conducting and assist with OSH/ EHS audits, such as Fire Audit, Quarterly Audit and Heat Stress and welfare facility audit.
· Follow-up contractors incident investigation and ensuring close out actions are timely completed to prevent reoccurring.
· Developing a technical report such as Monthly OSH/ EHS Statistic Report, management walk inspection report in conjunction with contractor personnel and submitting to the client.
· Ensuring the competency of contractor OSH/EHS staff in line with Clint OSH/EHS competency guidelines.
· Monitoring the contractor OSH Objectives & Targets Action Plan and ensue achieving the targets.
· plan and organize service requests to meet target dates and production goals.
· Organizing HSE meetings among staff, monthly HSE meetings with clients & top Management and preparing the agenda, Minutes and also providing the guidance.
· Organizing and conducting induction training.
· Developing and implementing the project-specific OSH/ EHS training program.
· Providing guidance in developing the project OSH/ EHS incentive program.
· Ensuring the availability of necessary PPE.
· Liaise with the client and enforcement authorities, ensuring they comply with Health & Safety regulations for the project.
