Title: Heritage Management Expert
Location: In-Country (Jordan), but not primarily onsite
Travel: 2 trips x 7 days each. Expected travel within the country to Wadi Rum and Aqaba to meet with host country government entities and other key stakeholders.

Position Description
The Heritage Management Expert will work as a team member under the supervision and direction of the Team Lead, in collaboration with the Activity Manager of the USAID/Jordan Economic Development and Energy, and in close coordination with ASEZA/WRPA. The primary responsibilities include updating the Integrated Management Plan (IMP) for the Wadi Rum World Heritage Site and conducting a comprehensive technical assessment of the cultural and environmental impact of tourism activities in the site and its buffer zone.
Specific Deliverables
- Updated Integrated Management Plan (IMP): The IMP for the Wadi Rum World Heritage Site is to be updated to ensure it reflects current needs and conditions.
- Comprehensive Technical Assessment Report: A detailed report assessing the cultural and environmental impact of tourism activities on the exceptional values and characteristics of the Wadi Rum World Heritage Site and its buffer zone. This report should highlight the site's national and global cultural and natural capital.
Position Requirements- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Experience: Five or more years of relevant experience.
- Specific Experience: Demonstrated experience specific to Wadi Rum.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a diverse team.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is preferred.
