Responsibilities:
- Undertake their duties as defined in the applicable legal requirements, within the contract, Dar PMC HSE Management System and Client OHSE Policies.
- Ensure that the occupational health and safety risks are suitably assessed and managed.
- Review and ensure the adequacy of the proposed HSE control measures and arrangements in the contractors plans, method statements, risk assessments and other project related HSE documents.
- Ascertain that occupational HSE incidents occurring on the project are investigated and reported.
- Provide professional support and advice to the Project Management Team and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- Undertake audits and inspections to identify issues or non-conformity, recommend corrective action and draft and submit the associated reports for issue.
- Collect and submit HSE performance data for the monitoring and analysis of trends and statistics.
- Monitor and follow up on actions and instructions issued, so far as possible ensuring these are closed out in a timely manner.
- Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives.
- Attend Project Management Meetings when required to report on relevant health and safety matters.
- Seek advice from Dar's HSE Manager if in doubt.
- Be familiar with the legal and other requirements applicable to the project and lead by example.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience with Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Must hold a valid NEBOSH Certification.
- Strong knowledge of international HSE standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
