HR Generalist Role

As the newest member of our HR team, you will be focusing on crucial HR tasks. You will be assisting with all things HR! This includes: helping onboard our new joiners, updating employee records, planning company culture initiatives, conducting screening interviews and being the first point of contact for all employees in the organization for all HR related queries! You'll also contribute to developing our company culture and participate in strategic HR initiatives. You will also be integral in continuously fostering our company culture by working on strategic HR projects and initiatives.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the HR Generalist include but are not limited to the following:

Onboarding and Orientation:

  • Lead comprehensive onboarding sessions for new hires, emphasizing key internal policies and procedures, introducing the tools at their disposal, and providing insights into the overarching company culture.

HR Administration:

  • Be the first point of contact for all new joiners as well as current employees for all their HR related questions, queries and concerns
  • Maintain and draft documentation as well as employee records
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Handling benefits, including healthcare, leave policies and other perks
  • Managing employment contracts and other legal documentation
  • Using HR software to manage employee records, payroll, performance tracking and leave management

Learning and Development

  • Supporting the on-going development of the company's learning and development initiatives and being proactive in recommending changes to the L&D strategy to meet the company's needs
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of the L&D initiatives by conducting surveys and getting employees feedback.

Recruitment and Selection:

  • Assist with recruitment and staffing during peak recruitment periods; posting jobs, conducting screening interviews and helping onboard new joiners
  • Be a physical representative for the HR department for new joiner orientation as well as university career fairs

Employee Relations:

  • Address employee queries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Address conflicts or issues promptly and fairly.
  • Assist in resolving workplace issues and promote a positive work environment.
  • Implement strategies to improve employee engagement.

Performance Management:

  • Support the performance review process, track KPI's and individual/team performance metrics
  • Assist in the development of existing training and development programs.

Workplace Culture and Engagement

  • Organizing team building activities, social events and engagement programs
  • Encouraging initiatives like employee recognition, wellness programs and surveys
  • Collecting feedback and making improvements to maintain a vibrant company culture
