WSP is seeking a highly experienced Hydraulic Engineer to join our team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to work on a critical Storm Water project. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning, design, and implementation of hydraulic systems aimed at mitigating the impact of stormwater events on urban infrastructure and the environment.

Your new role, what's involved

• Lead the hydraulic design efforts for stormwater management systems, including drainage networks, culverts, detention basins, and flood control structures.
• Conduct comprehensive hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess the potential impact of stormwater runoff on infrastructure and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hydraulic designs into overall project plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and client requirements.
• Utilize advanced modeling software to simulate stormwater flow, analyze system performance, and optimize design solutions.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide expert guidance and technical support to project teams, clients, and stakeholders throughout all project phases.
• Participate in project meetings, presentations, and discussions to communicate progress, address challenges, and ensure project objectives are met.
• Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in stormwater management and hydraulic engineering, and contribute to the continuous improvement of WSP's capabilities in this field.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in hydraulic engineering, with a focus on stormwater management projects.
• Proven expertise in conducting hydrological and hydraulic analyses using industry-standard software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM).
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design tools.
• Extensive knowledge of local regulations, codes, and standards related to stormwater management and drainage design in Saudi Arabia.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Fluency in English is required. Arabic language skills are advantageous.
