Job Purpose
The Aveva Systems Administrator administers the hardware, databases, ERP infrastructure, Operating Systems, Virtual Machines (VMs), and performs packaging and delivery deployments. Aveva ERM and Marine System Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of the organization's Aveva Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) and Marine software systems.
Key Accountabilities
- Integrate Aveva ERM and Marine systems with other enterprise applications to ensure seamless data exchange and automated workflows.
- Configure interfaces and data mapping tools to facilitate data flow between Aveva systems and other applications.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure smooth data exchange across the IT landscape.
- Generate reports and analyze data from Aveva systems to provide insights for process improvement and informed decision-making.
- Utilize Aveva reporting tools to extract relevant data and create reports that meet specific user needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and develop customized reports for various departments.
- Implement and manage changes to Aveva systems following established change management processes to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth roll-out.
- Document system changes, test new configurations thoroughly, and communicate updates effectively to users.
- Monitor the impact of changes and address any arising issues promptly.
- Liaise with Aveva software vendors to ensure timely resolution of technical issues and access to technical support resources.
- Stay informed about product updates, bug fixes, and new features Aveva releases.
- Participate in training programs offered by Aveva to enhance expertise in the software suite.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for Aveva system configurations, user procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and FAQs to provide self-service support options for users.
- Ensure documentation reflects system changes and best practices to improve user experience.
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to data security and privacy.
- Configure Aveva systems to comply with relevant regulations and ensure data is managed according to established policies.
- Assist with internal audits related to Aveva systems and user activity.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information technology (MIS)or equivalent.
- Professional Qualifications
Technical certifications in the field of database, applications integration, and/or implementation.
Aveva certifications in the development track will be an advantage.
PMP or similar certifications in project track will be an advantage.
Minimum Of 9 Years Of Relevant Experience.
Thoroughly proficient in both verbal and written English.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Knowledge of database systems, e.g., MS SQL, and Oracle.
- Knowledge of engineering and infrastructure systems e.g., IFS, Email, Web Server.
- Knowledge of frameworks and standards associated with IT like ISO 12207, ISO 27001, ISO 20000, CMMI.
- Proficient in maintaining precise control over configuration Items, including applications, documentation, source code, and RDBMS.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture, integration architecture, frameworks, and best practices.
- Expertise in solution design & development, enterprise application support and project management.
- Capable and experienced in providing technical solutions and helping consultants to finalize customer requirements.
- Experience in working with Aveva Engineering.
- Experience in handling Linux servers.
- Experience in preparing Aveva deliveries and installations.
- Experience in installing and administering Oracle databases.
- Experience in setting up and managing Aveva development environments.
- Ability to work under initiative and tight time pressures - planning, prioritizing, and controlling workload.
