Job Description

Job Purpose

The Application Quality Assurance and Control Division Head helps IMI establish quality regulations for software products and applications. They develop, maintain, and improve quality standards for IMI and find possible growth areas by analyzing application development and implementation cycles. They train, motivate, coach, and correct employees to meet IMI's standards. The Manager ensures that the quality of application installations aligns with IMI's policy requirements, national and international standards, and customer specifications. They maintain quality assurance processes, test applications, and analyze results.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with application development teams at IMI to understand project requirements and design comprehensive test plans.
  • Conduct thorough testing of applications to identify defects, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve identified issues.
  • Ensure technical support is provided for IT application development and implementation.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the application development lifecycle.
  • Conduct performance testing to assess the responsiveness, stability, and scalability of applications.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of QA/QC processes.
  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Author and review procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance and regulation adherence.
  • Estimate testing efforts, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
  • Support implementation of cost, quality, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Provide internal training to ensure QA standards are taught and implemented.
  • Lead investigation teams and ensure proper close-out and follow-up.
  • Review all IT applications documentation.
  • Display understanding of the project's value proposition for IMI.
  • Authorize changes in procedures to help minimize impact.
  • Control and distribute work instructions, forms, and logs in IT Applications department.
  • Actively support escalated issues from both internal and external customers.
  • Develop others and ensure team members training and learning.
  • Manage the design and implementation of IT procedures and guidelines.
  • Review complaints, concerns, or questions about applications quality issues.
  • Responsible for coordination, implementation, and maintenance of the QA program.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative and courteous relationships with fellow employees.
  • Participate in design, code, and test plan reviews as needed and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Review and test the enterprise system integration architecture.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the developers and project teams.
  • Work closely with the IT developers for the design, implementation, and testing of applications.
  • Coordinate with developers and project teams to ensure efficient delivery of projects.
  • Identify, debug, and troubleshoot applications errors and architecture issues.
  • Analyze and correct any conflicts in data configurations and overlaps.
  • Review the integration project deliverables to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
  • Assist in incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution of application issues.
  • Any other projects and duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information technology (MIS), systems engineering or equivalent.

  • Professional Qualifications

Technical certifications in the field of application integration and/or implementation.

IFS or Aveva certifications in the development track will be a plus advantage.

  • Experience

Minimum of 9-15 years of relevant experience in applications implementation, development, testing, quality control and quality assurance.

  • Languages

Thoroughly proficient in both verbal and written English.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proficient with analysis, design, and development of IT applications used at IMI.
  • Proficient in maintaining precise control over configuration Items, including applications, documentation, source code, and RDBMS.
  • Familiarity with frameworks and standards associated with IT applications like ISO 20000 and CMMI.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, integration architecture, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Knowledge and working experience in system integration across multiple platforms, business process automation and tools.
  • Expertise in solution design & development, enterprise application support, and project management.
  • Capable and experienced in providing technical solutions and helping consultants to finalize customer requirements.
  • Experience working with APIs from software applications such as ERP, Engineering, and operation technology systems.
  • Ability to work under initiative and tight time pressures - planning, prioritizing, and controlling workload.
  • Leadership and management skills for handling various situations
  • High level of integrity and ethical behavior.
