Job Purpose
The role holder is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all maintenance & operation activities related to his/her department for all yard zones to ensure safe, efficient, and effective activities execution of the following business areas:
- Maintenance & operation of pumps stations, water systems & networks.
- Maintenance & operation of treatment plants, sanitary systems & networks.
- Maintenance & operation of industrials gases system & networks.
- Maintenance & operation of main electrical substations, modular substations, electrical systems, and cables.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies and programs to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of utility systems, equipment & networks.
- Manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting and allocating resources effectively to meet maintenance needs.
- Ensure the implementation of the Asset Management System as per ISO 55001:2014, AM Policy and SAMP.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.
- Perform Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Program as planned and ensure zero overdue.
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, supervisors and superintendents
- Providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure timely and high-quality work.
- Lead the team to manage safely, timely and cost effectively all the maintenance garage activities.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with other departments to understand their maintenance needs and coordinate resources accordingly.
- Managing all utilities systems as following examples (electrical, waste, sanitary, stormwater, potable water, irrigation water, industrial gases, compressed air, pipes, valves, cables & panels).
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend changes to asset management plans including preventive maintenance checklists and frequencies according to the assets failures modes, main time between failures and historical reliability data.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure the availability of necessary maintenance materials, tools, and spare parts.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, such as equipment uptime, mean time between failures (MTBF), and maintenance costs.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of annual compliance reports, contracts, and related documentation.
- Direct and lead operation and maintenance teams to work 24/7 as necessary.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in maintenance and reliability management, and propose innovative solutions to enhance the maintenance function.
- Work closely with HSEQ Department for potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment for all employees.
- As per ISO55001, review and approve business case studies including risks and decision-making matrix for acquisition of new assets.
- Review and recommend adjustment to the outsourcing strategies.
- Review and approve the manpower Training Needs Analysis and Individual Developmental Plans.
- Manage staff, including allocation of duties, competency training, performance evaluation and leave roster and absence.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department, promoting employee engagement and development.

Who we are looking for
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
- At least 15+ years of experience in a related field including (5) years at managerial level.
- IFS practical experience is a plus.
Professional Qualifications:
- The IAM AM Principles or CAMA certificate is a plus.
- CFM or FMP certificate from IFMA is a plus.
- ISO31000 Lead Certificate is a plus.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Must have working knowledge of NEBOSH and/or OSHA standards and practices.
- HSE, Accountability and initiative taken for managing, maintaining, and improving the IMI's health, safety, and environmental performance.
