Job Purpose:
The position holder is in charge of the YSS electrical activities. He is expected to handle and supervise all in-house repairs as well as all third-party activities within the Yard. The Electrical Supervisor will oversee conducting investigations and submitting RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports with findings and recommendations for all premature failures to his direct line manager.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships:
- Manage and supervise all personal and professional related issues of the YSS technicians and other assigned personnel.
- Perform duties peculiar to and normally required in the trade of electricity, following recognized procedures and techniques for such work.
- Perform regular electrical duties including but not limited to (maintaining records and files, preparing reports, conduct crew annual assessments and provide training and coaching, and order workshop supplies and equipment).
- Forecast, plan ahead and execute all electrical equipment repairs safely within the approved budget.
- Conduct technical investigations and prepare Root Cause Analysis reports for all premature failures arrive at the electrical workshop with clear & detailed facts / evidence and corrective action plans to prevent similar failures from reoccurrence.
- Maintain up to date records of all electrical tools and equipment, ensuring that all tools and equipment are safe, operational, calibrated and well maintained at all times.
- Actively participate in the department budget planning initiatives and align the workload with the electrical services plans to avoid uneven schedules across the physical budget year.
- Provide preliminary and final BOM, sketches and cost estimates for assigned projects.
- Ensure that all spare parts reserved for the upcoming repair works are well received, inspected, and preserved in suitable environment well in advance until the actual repair works start.
- Maintain required records and prepare reports for all completed repairs or for all future pending plans.
- Ensure the workplace environment results in targeted retention and stability.
- Adhere to all relevant HSE procedures, instructions and controls, and provides a safe, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.
- Follow all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes and guidelines so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Contribute to cost-efficient usage of all applicable resources to reduce unnecessary expenses.
- Any other duties assigned by the yard support services manager.
Who we are looking for:
- Diploma in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Preferred Any additional certification / courses in Electrical engineering, AutoCAD, analysis software, 3D modelling / courses in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent knowledge of reading and understanding electrical engineering, drawings, workshop tools and equipment, parts identification and ordering, and electrical inventory management system.
- High level of competence in oral and written communication with good computer skills.
- Should have knowledge on industry IECEx practices preferably with certificate.
- Hold other OEM certificates related to Oil & Gas equipment maintenance.
- Demonstrated effective leadership and influencing skills and practices.
- At least 15 years in a similar role in a business of similar size and complexity.
- English.
- Arabic is a plus.
