Import Specialist

Responsibilities:

1. Supplier Communication:

• Research and evaluate new building material suppliers, primarily in China.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts and terms.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and quality supply of materials.

1. Procurement Processes:

• Prepare and follow up on purchase orders to meet project requirements.
• Evaluate quotes and select the most suitable options.
• Oversee the entire procurement process from initial order to final delivery.

1. Logistics and Shipping:

• Coordinate shipping and transportation from suppliers to company sites.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and import procedures for Saudi Arabia and UAE.
• Work with shipping and logistics companies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

1. Inventory Management:

• Monitor inventory levels and ensure continuous availability of essential materials.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast and plan future material needs.

1. Reporting:

• Prepare regular reports on procurement and import activities.
• Provide recommendations for improving procurement processes and reducing costs.

1. Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to required specifications and standards.
• Resolve any issues that arise during the procurement or shipping process.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing and importing construction materials, with a focus on formwork.
• Extensive experience and strong knowledge of the Chinese market and suppliers of construction materials.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
• Familiarity with customs regulations and international shipping procedures for Saudi Arabia and UAE.
• Strong organizational and managerial skills.
• Proficiency in English; proficiency in Chinese is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of accounting and inventory management software.
