Job Description

As a Industrial Safety Technician you are responsible to assist the Chief Engineer / Director of Engineering on all matters related to safety, emergency preparedness and environmental compliance programs whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as-
- Follow the standards of Rotana as per the Fire & Emergency Manual
- Take rounds of the Hotel complex on a daily basis and highlight any dangerous operating condition
- Co-ordinate on various maintenance works in the hotel to ensure safety at work place
- Follow up on maintenance and operations of all the fire alarm system and fire fighting system in the hotel and maintain proper records
- Follow up on the preventive maintenance schedule of the hotel equipment to ensure that all equipment meet requirements
- Ensure all maintenance contracts are valid and renewed before the end date
- Follow up on microbiological water samples tests and to ensure that corrective action is in place if needed
- Monitor the daily pool water tests and to ensure that corrective action is in place if needed
- Assists in the delivery of related educational programs and disseminates information to the public
- Review plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to make sure they meet safety requirements
- Evaluate the effectiveness of various industrial control mechanisms
- Install safety devices on machinery or direct the installation of these devices
- Review colleague safety programs and recommend improvements
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes
Skills
Education, Qualifications & Experiences
You should ideally have a degree in Engineering and should have at least two years experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. A good command of written and spoken English and the ability to monitor for compliance with local safety, health, environmental regulations and industry standards are essentials.
Knowledge & Competencies
The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate and control environmental hazards by developing and modifying procedures, training modules and providing safety orientation to hotel employees. You will have a high level of self motivation, develop innovative options in the best interest of the hotel while possessing following additional competencies-
