Job Summary:
The IT Operations Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring the optimal performance of the company's technology systems, networks, and applications. The role includes overseeing IT support services, managing system upgrades, ensuring data security, and leading the IT operations team to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage IT Infrastructure: Oversee the organization's technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and data centers.
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Ensure that systems are running efficiently by monitoring performance, conducting routine maintenance, and troubleshooting any issues.
- IT Service Management (ITSM): Implement and manage IT service management processes such as incident management, problem management, and change management to align with SLAs.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the IT operations team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating the performance of team members.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Security Compliance: Ensure the security of IT systems and data by implementing appropriate policies and procedures, as well as keeping abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and consultants to ensure the timely delivery of services and solutions.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Plan and manage the IT operations budget, optimizing costs and ensuring expenditures align with the organization's objectives.
- Project Management: Oversee IT-related projects, including system upgrades, installations, and implementations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Performance Reporting: Regularly report on the performance of the IT operations, highlighting areas of improvement and ensuring key metrics are being met.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide support for organizational goals and initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, including management experience.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud computing, and data management.
- Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Experience with cybersecurity best practices and protocols.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Vendor management experience.
