Position Overview:The Infrastructure Engineer for Road and Utilities is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining infrastructure projects related to roadways and utility systems. This includes overseeing construction, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing project timelines and budgets. The engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of infrastructure projects.
Design and develop road and utility infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new projects.
Prepare detailed engineering designs, plans, and specifications for roadways, drainage systems, water supply, sewage, and other utilities.- Manage and coordinate construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Oversee and inspect construction work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for infrastructure projects.- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure project goals are met.
Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
- Prepare and submit reports, proposals, and documentation related to infrastructure projects.
Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools for project planning and execution.- Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on all aspects of infrastructure projects.
Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues related to road and utility infrastructure.
Conduct public presentations and meetings to communicate project plans and progress to stakeholders.- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in infrastructure engineering.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
- Manage environmental impact assessments and ensure sustainable practices are incorporated into infrastructure projects.
Develop and implement maintenance plans for existing infrastructure.- Participate in the procurement process, including evaluating bids and selecting contractors and suppliers.
Ensure effective project documentation and record-keeping.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
Liaise with utility companies and government agencies for project approvals and permits.- Monitor and evaluate the performance of infrastructure systems and recommend improvements.
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on roads and utilities.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and regulations.- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
